About Buffalo Indie Market Buffalo Indie Market: Discover handmade at a monthly Indie event of the most current, high quality, handmade items from the always growing Indie art community. We encourage both consumers and shop owners to visit the market for direct access to local Indie Artists and their latest work. We help promote local Indie Artists through our monthly event along with our weekly online blog and direct on-line access to each Indie Artists website. Participating Indie Artists will be featured in our weekly blog, introducing their business to the community and their story as well as encouraging local consumers and retailers to buy and sell handmade merchandise.
The goal is to create a fun and inviting shopping atmosphere, a strong Indie Art community that promotes the growth and commerical viability of independent artists and businesses in the Buffalo area. The market is open every second Sunday of the month from 12PM to 5PM on the second/third floor of Pearl Street Grill and Brewery.

Buffalo Indie Market was started by business owner and designer Mary Stephens McGinnis. When starting Ry Stephens Design, a handmade cards and invitations business, Mary quickly realized the need for a more current year long market in Buffalo. With the recent growth of on-line markets and independent artists, a need for a Buffalo market of current handmade products appeared obvious. In October of 2007 Mary took part in Brooklyn Indie Market, which is a weekly Independent Artists market in Brooklyn, New York. The warm welcome she received there and the pleasant community atmosphere developed by Kathy Malone and Johanna Resnikoff, a native of Buffalo, spurred Mary's desire to start an Indie Artist market in Buffalo. Buffalo has long awaited for a market that brings all the latest handmade creations from the local Indie Art community to the areas consumers.
